I know the answer is in these threads, but after spending an hour looking, thought I would ask.
I am looking for the best way to backup/clone the pCP SD card image using a win 10 machine. I realize that this is now a feature in pCP 7, but I am trying to bring a few pCP 6.1 installs up to date, and provide a backup SD for a non tech friend in case he bricks his SD card.
On one of the pCP 6.1 installs I started to do and insitu update to 7. I have my cache and prefs on a HDD. But I decided to make a clone of the card (to bring the clone up to 7, just in case) I used mini tool partition wizard to clone the SD to another. I then tried to boot the "copy" and it didn't boot. Maybe it needs to be made "bootable?"
I quickly realized that I didn't know what I was doing, and thought I would ask.
My intent is:
1) Bring one 6.1 pCP that is currently 2 partition (LMS data on HDD) up to pCP 7, then add the third partition for LMS data (silimar to #2). Then backup the image to the Win10 machine
2) Bring a couple other 6.1 up to 7, they are currently using the 3 partition configuration. All 3 are to have the exact same configuration, even LMS data, so one backup.
3) Create a exact SD copy of the pCP7 that I deployed to a non tech friend, so if I get that call, I can tell him to swap out the SD.
Sorry for such a noob question, but I'd like to get it right. I looked at the pCP team documentation site and didn't see anything. Once I am up to 7, I'll use the built in feature.
