Earlier, I mentioned that I moved from pCP 6.1 to 8.0 on three Pi2Bs. And also that they worked well after replacing the wifi-stick on one of them.
... I may have spoken to soon.
Now that I have used them for some time, there is a clearly a problem with the two that are connected via wifi. (
Most of the time they play well for several hours. But sometimes there are drop-outs in the music being played, that can last from a few seconds to hours. When that happens they lose connection to the LMS-server.
At first I suspected the wifi-network, but at the same time these clients drop out, my smartphone with Squeezeplayer continues to play with no interruptions whatsoever. Also the pCP-clients are still visible in my routers interface.
A reboot of the pCP-client that has dropped out does not bring back the connection. A reboot of the LMS-server doesnt change anything either. I can only just wait until they decide to play again. So far the unit that is connected via wired network has not had any drop-outs.
So, it doesnt seem to be caused by the wifi-sticks, by the wifi-network nor by the LMS-server.
Perhaps it is a combination of factors that cause these problems.
I can't make head nor tail of it. Maybe somebody can?
PS: LMS-server is 8.2.0 on a Qnap TS-253D
