Can't get logitech mediaserver to recognize some directories

Running xubuntu 13.10. Have this working at home, wanted to get it working at work, but having some issues/

Have one hd with the main os on it, a usb drive with my music on it, and a second internal data hard drive. Both the secondary internal drive and the usb drive are mounted with default options. The end up in /media/MY_USER_NAME/data and /media/MY_USER_NAME/external.

Squeezebox server refuses to see these directories. What user does it run as? Has anyone else had these issues?
