I know LMS on pure Android is discussed and in most cases there is no need and big demand.
In my case:
- I have a new Odroid U3 to put all my mediaservers to one device.
- Squeezeplug 7 for Odroid, or deb installation on Ubuntu works very good.
- XBMC on Android works smooth and is officially supported (Odroid team and community is working on new smooth Ubuntu+XBMC, probably coming soon)
- Netflix is only on Android
- LMS is only on Linux
So I have decided to choose Android and try Linux on chroot: "http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=1920"
I didn't try it from scratch, installed Linux Deploy app, which automates installation.(There are other apps like LinuxonAndroid etc.) Installed Debian, Ubuntu, Arch images. Linux is working, you can ssh and install packages etc.
Debian /ubuntu:
-wget and installing deb file from slimdevices download page went smooth.( I had to use gdebi instead of dpkg in some linux versions to install with dependencies, I don't remember which)
-In both debian and ubuntu, squeezeboxserver starts and dies constantly. When I run top, I see two squeezeserver instances(one with same pid, one with increasing pid) starting and dying.
Arch:
-I have fallowed "http://www.hagensieker.com/styled-24/index.html"
- Package compiled and installed
- Starting the service is rejected with "running in chroot" message
Does someone have any idea especially with Debian/ubuntu installation? Is it realistic to run LMS in the background of an Android installation with these chroot method?
And maybe Squeezeplug image can be used directly to run in chroot. I guess these apps can use your custom images, too.
