Guys, anyone wishing to say anything about what was Community Squeeze OS, please post here, rather than in the release thread. That thread needs to end with the message that CSOS is no longer available and that no-one should be purchasing Wandboards with the intention of running it on them.
I am really pleased to see that Triode is doing something with making software for the WB available again via the Arch distribution. I don't really know much about Arch, so I don't have any opinions, such as, whether it is a good or bad choice. But I hope that you will all support him and what he is trying to do.
Later today I'll try and take a couple of pictures of a "FrankenWandBoard", my first prototype of what was to become the Bone Player. It's basically, a ES9023 daughter board jumpered to the Wandboard carrier board in place of the sgtl5000. All fits into the Wandboard plastic case, no extra power supplies needed or anything like that. Pair of RCA jacks on a 10cm "pigtail" coming out of the WB case, via a grometted hole. (Really does need a picture. I'm doing my usual crap job of explaining this. ;)) I think many would be surprised by just how damn good it sounds, even if you have a "spendy" external DAC to compare it to. I think I'm the proud owner of 6 Wandboards now, so I can afford to "lose" one of them. This one is "special".... A bit of history, maybe. And if I get back the price of the Wandboard, I'll add it to money I have already put aside to deal with the Community Squeeze "nuclear fall-out". ;)
