LMS on Lubuntu - Newbie Help Please

Hi

Hoping someone can help me please.

I've been running a Windows XP laptop for the last few months with LMS and it's been reasonably good, with only occasional hiccups due to running out of virtual memory. However the other day it failed to scan and rebuild the library so I've bitten the bullet and decided to run it on a Linux install instead.

Today I've installed Lubuntu. LMS 7.7.2 is now up and running with a Duet, Touch and Radio connected. Spotify and Radio streams work fine so the server itself is running fine.

The problem comes with trying to add any music to it.

Ultimately I have a USB drive with my music on but for now I have put some sample files in a folder under "/home/phil/MusicTest" added the folder to the Media Folders box in the LMS web interface and pressed scan. Scan starts, tells me it's found 16/16 Directories and 23/23 New Media Files (although there are at least 50+ mp3s in the folder subdirectories). The scan lasts for 0seconds and my library is empty. The Music Folder list shows all the folders, including the album sub directories, but each come up as empty when opened.

I really hope someone can help me, I'm a Linux newbie so step by step instruction would be massively appreciated!

Mny thanks
