Hello,
First of all a huge thanks to Triode and his masterpiece that is Squeezelite.
I want to build a Squeezebox Touch equivalent small PC that would be headless and be controlled exclusively remotely, by iPeng.
It must be capable of outputting bit perfect audio via digital spdif up to 192kHz/24-bit. So the sampling frequency would adjust to match the source file being played. And there would be no volume control or any other processing.
It must run under Linux, ideally Ubuntu Server (as I am somewhat familiar with it) without a GUI. When the computer powers on, Squeezelite should automatically start without any user input.
My question is, is this possible?
If so I am looking at the Intel NUC (Celeron 847 one) and a USB 2.0 asynchronous sound card which outputs up to 192/24, like the Musical Fidelity V-Link192 or M2Tech hiFace Two.
Also if the above is possible, then would it also be possible with the Raspberry Pi?
Thanks!
